According to Italian reports, Napoli is interested in a deal with Atalanta for Ademola Lookman, the current African Player of the Year and a Nigerian international. If a suitable offer is made this summer, Lookman may be permitted to leave his current club.

Lookman’s deal with Atalanta is reportedly being targeted by Napoli.
Kevin De Bruyne joined Napoli on a free transfer earlier this week, starting the summer transfer season. The Belgian spent ten years at Manchester City, winning six Premier League titles and the team’s first-ever Champions League.

The Partenopei are set to have a busy transfer window as they look to build upon Antonio Conte’s Scudetto-winning squad, and prepare the team for a return to the Champions League in 2025-26.

Several attackers, including Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez and Bologna’s Dan Ndoye have been linked with a move to the Stadio Maradona this summer, but La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Napoli are particularly keen on a deal with Atalanta for Lookman.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who left Napoli to join Paris Saint-Germain halfway through the 2024–25 season, would essentially have Lookman as his long-term replacement.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Atalanta is waiting for offers above €60 million for Lookman this summer, while Napoli is willing to make an offer of about €50 million for a fresh, high-profile attacker.

According to sources on Saturday, the player has already stated that he wants to leave Atalanta this summer, and the club is more likely to approve his departure.
